Building a brain: the foundation for behavior

Led by Jane Holmes Bernstein

No modern society can afford NOT to make an investment in the brains of its youngest citizens – and the investment must be made in the very earliest years. Building a brain depends on relationships, interactions and exploration. Critical “brain food” includes caring, conversation, rhythm and play. Dr Bernstein will argue that these are crucial for learning at all ages and will highlight the role that each of these plays in constructing a brain over time.
